Sports Marketing Surveys and the SFIA have released the second batch of 2020 Single Sport Reports. All 24 Single Sport Reports in the fitness category are now available for sale via the SFIA website

Each year the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) provides an in-depth report of 90 individual sports and fitness activities. SMS operates the research, ensuring that the data collection and analysis is robust, trustworthy and insightful.

Each report contains a highly-detailed analysis of the activity, which breaks down the data to enable strategic decision making, including on investment, stocks, sales and customer targeting.

The new wave of releases includes the following 24 fitness activities:

  • Aquatic Exercise
  • Barre
  • Boot Camp Style Training
  • Calisthenics
  • Cardio Kickboxing
  • Cross-Training Style Workouts
  • Dance, Step & Other Choreographed Exercise to Music
  • Elliptical Motion Training
  • Free Weights (Barbells)
  • Free Weights (Dumbbells/Hand Weights)
  • High Impact/Intensity Training (HIIT)
  • Kettlebells
  • Pilates
  • Rowing Machine

Each report covers the key facts and figures that support decision making for brands, retailers, facilities, federations and investors. Individual reports show participation trends over the last six years to enable decisions to be taken in the full sporting context. They also split participants into casual and core players to create foundations for customer targeting. Demographic profiling including age, gender, education level, geographic region and income is also applied. Cross-participation data shows the other sports that players take part in.

The release of the fitness reports follows the 23 team sports reports, which were released in May 2020.
