New Balance increased dollar market share in the specialty running channel by 3 percentage points in 2017.
The New Balance success was driven by two “specialty only” models the NB 880 and the NB 860. This gives the retailers confidence that the shoes won’t be sold in other channels. The 880 increased 2.1 percentage points in dollar share in 2017.
The NB 880 and the NB 860 account for 11.3% of dollar sales in the key $110.00-$119.99 price point to push NB to second place in the market.
