The U.S. House of Representatives passes the PHIT Act
The U.S. House of Representatives approves the Personal Health Investment Today (PHIT) Act as a part of a larger Health Savings Account bill package by a vote of 277 to 142. The bill will now be awaiting Senate action.
The PHIT Act would allow Americans to use tax-free accounts like HSAs and Flexible Spending Accounts to pay for fitness expenses that qualify under this act. The PHIT Act will help to promote physical activity and help children and adults remain active in sports, fitness, and leisure activities.
The PHIT Act will also help fight against inactivity in American youth’s, and help promote a more active, healthy lifestyle. More information regarding the House of Representatives passing the PHIT Act can be found here.
