Yoga growth in unexpected location

While research provided by Sports Marketing Surveys USA to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association is quoted below it shows an interesting facet of yoga. Not only that the industry is growing but participants are going from participant to teacher (or at least paying for the 200 hour teaching course).

The number of newly registered teachers in the U.S. rose by an average of 18% a year from 2008 to 2014, according to Yoga Alliance. That is three times as fast as the 6% growth rate for participants overall, according to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association.

This study includes many types of yoga lumped into this one percentage: Ashtanga, Baptiste Power Vinyasa, Bikram, Forrest, Integral, Ishta, Iyengar, Jivamukti, Kripalu, Kundalini, OM, and Para.

This also may include different forms that the participant may have partaken in.
