Physical Activity Report

Sports Marketing Surveys USA provides data for the Sports and Fitness industry Association when it comes to the physical activity report. Some of the news sources had used different portion of the report but the main focus that can be found among all of these sources is this quote:

“82.7 million Americans (28.3 percent ) were physically inactive in 2014, an increase of 0.7 percent from 2013.”

They also discussed that this is alarming because the number of Americans who joined fitness clubs had increased in that time frame:

“The PAC report also showed more than 63 million Americans used a health club in 2014 – a 2.3 percent increase over the previous year – according to a release from the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA).”
